JURA THEATRE PROGRAM
JURA adds an extra dimension in the theatre. Beautiful images and lighting support the music. And the public experience the concert as if it is played for each and everyone personally.
JURA, also an anagram of the first two letters of Jan en Ruben their names, writes songs about the good and bad things in life. Each song is brought to you in a unique and special way. Folk, Blues, Americana, Rock, Country are music styles in which JURA creates its own path and the dynamics between the two musicians melt together as one. JURA guides you through beautiful, yet sometimes rough times and takes you through emotional landscapes that are in fact always there, but rarely noticed.
Ruben Hoeke, one of Hollands most respected Rock and Blues guitarists, is repeatedly awarded in his career. He has played and toured with Thé Lau, Roberto Jacketti & The Scooters, did music sessions in many music styles and has his own Ruben Hoeke Band. In JURA he shows himself from a completely different side. In various styles he lays down the surprising acoustic basis for the songs.
Jan Blaauw, for over three decades a blues and rock singer. In 2020 he launched a new rock album with Dunkey SR (with amongst others Willem Swikker and Ruben Hoeke). Jan is able to touch the audience with his lyrics and vocals. His convincing voice in combination with the guitar playing of Ruben, gives each song an intense atmosphere.
